WHOSE PROBLEM IS SCHOOL VIOLENCE?

Source:philly.com

The problem is ours so we just all have to deal with the problem and it needs to be sorted out .The only way this thing can be solved it will need the involvement of the administrators, the community, the parents, the teachers and students need to gather and make schools safe because by punishing the students it won’t solve anything.
There’s been a lot of violence amongst students in schools. I believe that it is the superiority some students want to have over other students. Bulling is nothing compared to what happens in schools. It’s about some sort of gangsterism in schools. I think the reason can be the students are being violent towards each other because of things like, guys fighting over girls, academics and money.

What are schools doing right now? According to the NCES survey, 84% of public schools have a 'low security system in place. This means that they have no guards or metal finders, but they do control access to school buildings. 11% have 'moderate security which means either employing a full-time guard with no metal detectors or controlled access to the buildings or a part-time guard with controlled access to the buildings. read more

The blame can be on the parents that are not taking the initiative to solve the matter by disciplining their children, as discipline begins at home. One way of resolving this matter is by training the teachers and the staff members to be watchful and reply student’s needs before they result in unhealthy behaviour. The school can also provide school counselling so it can impact the students.  In a communication angle the school needs to invite the South African Police Service to teach the students not to carry weapon when coming to school premises and the community as a whole impacts on the upbringing of its youth so everyone should take responsibility.

UJ IS BETTER AT ORGANISING OPEN DAY EVENTS
The University of Johannesburg uses events such as the open day to promote the brand of the university and I think that the university is striving to get the learners who would like to further their studies. The marketing communication strategy that the university is using its working because there’s a lot of   learners that are coming from high school that are eager to study in the university.
The university is communicating a message to the public to say that it is a caring institution, it offers a choice in one’s career, it answers to questions about study fields, it gives helpful information, and it is also partnering with the communities and encourages the community to be involved in their innovative research.
UJ employs students and trains them to hand out information packages, manage information stands, and be helpful and informative to applicants. This sets the university in a positive light and perceptions that it is helpful and it cares about the education of the country.
The UJ creates perceptions that it provides a somewhat unforgettable varsity life experience to all prospective students interested in furthering their studies. This shows that UJ has a good Public Practitioner because the university is aware of what the public wants and it is striving to meet student’s needs. It is clear that UJ has paid attention to the theory of Environmental Scanning in Public Relations because they’ve identified the needs of their stakeholders and are willing to cater for their needs by providing them with information about the university.

EDUCATION IS MORE THAN JUST BOOKS

Source:globalcitizenshipproject.wordpress.com

Education is an important element in a person’s life and no human can be able to survive without education. Education can improve one’s potential and intelligence to be able to be proactive in your social life, academics and in a corporate world. This tells us that education helps on how humans reason and to be able to make decisions for themselves. In this new century education is viewed as a basic need for survival.
To realize the impact of education in a person’s life, you can conduct an observation and compare the differences between an educated individual and an illiterate person, you will notice that education plays a big role in one’s intellect level. Without proper education one’s life is incomplete and you may not be able to understand on how the world operates in different circumstances. Looking back education was limited, it was narrow to certain individuals but today education is open to everyone regardless of one’s background.

I think education has helped a lot of popular icons to improve other disadvantaged individuals to obtain better education and making a measurable difference in their lives, the objective of getting educated is to achieve distinction, to get the jobs we always wanted, to be more proficient, to have a higher status and having an impact to develop others.  Oprah Winfrey who is well known as a Philanthropist, an actress by profession, talk show host and a producer has formed a Leadership Academy for girls to groom young girls to be good future leaders. The mission and the vision of the Leadership Academy is to develop future women leaders in South Africa who are disadvantaged to help them improve their communities and country.
